MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK AUSTRALIA kicks off today (April 30), and right from the very first day has captured our imaginations.

Stand out collection of the day was design collaboration between Romance Was Born and Marvel Comics, which showcased comic strip prints parading on the catwalk. Red Mullet Wigs inspired by icon David Bowie paraded the runway along with comical armour with fans absorbing tremendous energy from the show. 

Romance was Born’s Luke Sales revealed that they had been wanting to work with a comic theme for some time now, and decided MBFWA 2012 would be the perfect time to run the show with comic-giant Marvel. In my opinion this was perfect timing as comics are becoming increasingly popular, especially with new comic-blockbuster movie The Avengers hitting cinemas nationwide.
